Our restoration through Christ returns us to a state of worthiness and holiness through His sacrifice.
If you’re like me, you perhaps love watching YouTube videos of old, dirty items being restored. I especially love car-cleaning, rug-cleaning, and house-cleaning videos where I’m shocked by the condition these items have been left in. However, someone comes along and cleans these items up, and the difference in the before-and-after pics is quite astonishing.
These people sacrifice their time, energy, and resources to restore them completely, bringing back value, worth, and newness. For most people, we’d take a look at an abandoned car or home and condemn it—destroy it because we deem it worthless and no longer serving its intended purpose. But not these people. They see these objects as worthy enough for restoration.
They see a hidden value no one else sees, so they take the time and energy to restore these items. Often, this takes hours or days depending on how degraded the item is.
They are meticulous with their cleaning, ensuring they have the right products for each stain, grime, and dirt—even the ones we think cannot be removed! However, the end result of these items is so phenomenal that you’d never know how dirty or run-down they were before.
This is what Christ has done for us. He saw our value and worth, even when no one else did, and instead of condemning us, He sacrificed His life for our restoration. In the end, His grace and mercy bring us back into His love.
Don’t let anyone reduce your value. You were worth God’s redemption and His sacrifice. Walk on it. Live in it.
