Studio Notes

Did you know that the very first instance of God filling someone with His Holy Spirit was to do creative work? In fact, God’s first act was to create.

Studio Notes | Creativity, Art, and Design

Creativity lies at the heart of every designer, artist, engineer, scientist, historian, and mathematician. It’s the foundational blueprint of all that we do as humans. We’re made in the image of the creator to create.

It’s why I built Studio Notes. As part of my revamped blog structure, Studio Notes brings my creative side to life. Most of my life has been filled with creating: from sketching fashion illustrations all the way to building branding systems for businesses; at my core is creativity.

Creativity is ingrained in our DNA. Studio Notes is all about shaping how we view creativity in the modern world. Here, I share my experiences in the design and creative industries, give you the tools you need to create, and help you unlock your fullest potential in art and design.

Studio Notes is something personal to me, fleshed out through careful examination of all the posts I’ve written, the words in the archives, and the projects I’m working on. I wanted to share a side of me that reflects my passion.

In every field I can think of, creativity became a necessity to get us where we are today. We created a language system, mathematical formulas, blueprints for our cities, and ideas behind our most prolific technologies.

In the Creative Pinkprint, I share the strategy and planning that brings the ideas to life. Here, you’ll see everything from concept development and mistakes I made to the final outcome.

One of my newest and most passionate projects yet is my venture into brand design and brand strategy. It’s a long-term, intentional goal of mine.

The Brand Atelier focuses on helping you grow your business through my behind-the-scenes techniques made available to you. I cover marketing, content creation, branding, business management, and much more. No gatekeeping, no fuss.

I also share how to build visibility and cohesive messaging while staying true to your core values. We learn and grow together, helping you build a strategic brand identity from foundation to execution, all as a part of my Brand Engineering Pinkprint Workshop.

From my design archives to yours, I want to place my visual design, aesthetics, and inspiration to the forefront through history, references, layouts, and creative experiments.

The Design Archives is split into four distinct levels:

Art with Intention: Focused on giving meaning to the works of art that surround us. From classical art to modern architecture, I examine the most thought-provoking pieces and offer commentary.

The Fashion Files: In conjunction with my fashion brand, XAKÁNI, I share my thoughts on personal style, red carpet events (hosted on XAKÁNI), and the inside scoop in the world of fashion.

Creative Case: Make a case for creativity in the design world with trends, emerging designs, and large-scale brands that change the cultural landscape.

Designer Confessions: The life of a creative isn’t an easy one. I share stories about how the creative industry has impacted me and how I navigate the challenges I face. You’ll get the full scoop and the juicy details, all while remaining true to the principles of ethics and moral guidance.

Creative Calling: Cross-functional across the entire blog, I focus on creativity and the Gospel. Creativity centered on and around Christ is placed at the forefront here, from how I use my creativity and talents for ministry to how the modern church views creativity.

The Creator’s Toolkit is all about the must-have tools, top products I’ve used, and the best resources for artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and fashion enthusiasts.

I cover the best of the best, expose the worst of the worst, and show you where to shop for them. Plus, I highlight designers and artists you can support (by buying their product or following their page).
