Sometimes, I have to remind myself that God is still in the business of exposure. While this is true for those in leadership or with a platform, it is true for me as well.
As little as it may seem, praying for God’s full guidance and direction in not only our actions but also our words and thoughts is essential in our walk with Christ.
As a body of believers, it is important to guard what we do and say, and sometimes even how we think. However, we should know that we aren’t alone in this spiritual journey.
While maintaining rightful standing before God is difficult, with our dependency on the Holy Spirit, we CAN, and we MUST continue in righteousness and holiness.
In these times, we can’t be caught slipping.
In the world of Christian news, it was revealed that a popular Christian YouTuber, known prominently for exposing and calling out false leaders, was placed under church discipline for adulterous behavior.
This got me thinking 🤔 … how could something like this happen? I remembered watching some of their videos and wondering why they spent so much time mocking (and don’t get me wrong, the pastors he showcased were incorrect in their theology) what he purported to be false teachers, rather than edifying believers.
However, I found myself disengaged from the YouTube channel, but I was still shocked to learn that the YouTuber was under strict disciplinary action. It brought my attention to my own actions as an ambassador of the Throne of Grace.
How do my actions, intentions, words, and thoughts impact my journey with Christ? When called to disciple and spread the Good News, what becomes more important: the life I lead or the theology I spout?
I can tell you one thing. How we live is more important to God than what we preach. Our relationship with God is defined by His Spirit shining through us and not by how many Bible facts we know or how much we go to church. It is how WE LIVE as believers that accentuates the Gospel.
