In July of 2025, I was given one word … SUDDENLY, which slowly began to appear all over my social media accounts.
TikTok, Facebook, Instagram … each content creator came with a message of suddenly. Suddenly things will happen, suddenly, God’s plan will be fulfilled, suddenly you’ll get a new job, new opportunities, friends, partners … supposedly, 2025 was a year of suddenly’s.
Yet, in all that I prayed for, nothing came ’suddenly’. I was expecting something great to happen suddenly, that God’s promises would suddenly come to fruition. But now, I understand something.
Suddenly takes place when you least expect it.
If I anticipate my suddenly’s, then it wouldn’t be a suddenly, wouldn’t it?
This week, I was in tears. A depression had hit me; I came to the realization that the things I’d been praying for, yearning for, hoping for, weren’t going to happen as ‘suddenly’ as I thought they should be. Yet, God reminded me of something He said a few weeks back: ‘Be watchful and observant.’
A faithful follower of God leaves her prayers in God’s hands, letting go of them all—the love, the loss, the pressure, the excitement, and the worries. Instead, she discerns the times, watching carefully, observing the shifts in her life.
Anticipation won’t yield suddenlys. Yes, God promised it to you, but it is coming when you least expect it. Instead, He calls us to remain vigilant in our walk with Him, prayerful, mindful, and prepared. Because when His SUDDENLY takes place, it WILL be in a moment when you’re ready to receive it, when you’re prepared.
Your suddenly is about to come. Don’t anticipate, don’t worry. Simply TRUST.
Signed,
