The Pink Ravyn began in 2013, when I wanted to write freely about things that I found interesting to me. Since then, it became the alias I blog, design, and illustrate under.
Who is The RAVYN?
Initially, when I started this blog, it was called The Black Lemon, a reference to a smoky and flavorful spice used in the East. However, as I grew and evolved, I realized I wanted to stick with something close to me, and so, I settled on The Pink Ravyn, a brand that would soon expand into something greater.
In 2015, I started what was originally a fashion and lifestyle blog, which eventually evolved into something broader. From sharing my writing journey to expressing my thoughts on social issues, The Pink Ravyn has become the brainchild for all my creations.
Why Should I Read This Blog?
This blog was created to bring a unique flavor to spirituality, social commentary, and design. This blog challenges perceived truths, giving everyone who reads it something to think about.
A significant part of this blog is dedicated to my coming to understand my identity as a Black woman and my identity in God. Parts of this blog focus on spiritual growth, especially in the areas of theology, empowerment, and relationship with Christ.
I hope that you find this blog enjoyable as you share what inspires you when you read. I want to create this to help you have a fresh take on life. Remember to like, share, and comment on anything you find interesting.

All About Nickay
My name is Nickay. I’m an author, blogger, and fashion designer/illustrator. I’m also a proud graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (go Tigers!!).
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design (Sportswear Concentration) and a Minor in both Math and Art History. I also studied African History and Civilization, as well as Caribbean History.
As a Jamaican-born woman growing up in the British Virgin Islands, my inspirations have always come from my culture. I believe that sharing my views and experiences about school, life, and spirituality will help impact those who struggle to express who they are.
Two of my biggest influences are my mother, whose spirituality and faith have impacted me profoundly, and Kristin, my mentor in fashion and whose work ethic and jovial and helpful spirit I’ve always admired.
