In the Middle of a Miracle | Divine Diaries (Feb 8, 2025)

4–5 minutes

I was scrolling through Instagram reels when I came across this one titled ‘Three Signs You’re in the Middle of a Miracle, and You Don’t Even Know It’.

It’s a long title for a reel, but you know Instagram … these titles are usually constructed to catch you in a moment of scrolling.

So, I stopped and I listened to what this young girl had to say. She outlined three things, which I’ll list below:

  • A dry season that has you feel trapped.
  • Receiving provision in the midst of an environment that seems hopeless
  • And surviving in a situation meant to kill you

On December 8th, 2024, God gave me a word. He said:

What this person on Instagram said was something I related to and spiritually aligned with. God’s way of making miracles is certainly different from what is expected. For God to perform a miracle in your life, the first indicator is the desert or wilderness season.

In such a season, you’ll notice the obstacle—the dead end. There would seem to be no way out of this wilderness season, no way to survive it, and God does this intentionally. He brings you here, first to ensure that your complete trust is in Him but also to ensure that He receives the glory for what only He can do.

God, the Conqueror

In Isaiah 43, God shows Israel His love by demonstrating how He saved them through situations that were deemed hopeless. He begins by saying:

When receiving a miracle, your first step is to trust in God’s process, to receive what He has done and is about to do for you.

Sometimes, as believers, it is hard to see the miracle that God is performing in our lives. All around, we see the wilderness—barren lands stretch for miles on all ends, and we can’t see the horizon.

A miracle of God’s making is something that we first have to live through before we even realize that it is taking place.

Miracles that Matter

The miracles that God performs in our lives are ones that should draw us closer to Him, that allow us to see His good. Miracles from God aren’t done to satisfy our own selfish needs.

God’s miracles aren’t the three wonderful wishes from a genie but rather purposeful and intentional actions that showcase His glory and mercy in our lives. Recognizing a miracle for what it is is the heart of miracles that matter.

Miracles Not Magic

We cannot long for a miracle from God—neither should we expect God to perform miracles whenever we want. Instead, we should be a living example of God’s greatest miracle—the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our testament to being saved and receiving the gift of grace and the guarantor of the Holy Spirit is in itself a miracle. The fact that we were washed and cleansed by the atonement of His blood and sanctified through His offering.

Miracles to Mold

Romans 12:2 says:

When we walk in the will of God, the miracles that He performs should continuously mold us to become more Christ-like. Even our constant renewal in God’s will is a miracle that we should attest to in our daily lives.

We shouldn’t be quick to panic when we don’t see a ‘sign’ or ‘wonder’ from God. Our very faith and reliance on God’s provision is a miracle that we should give thanks for.

How Do I Know I’m in the Middle of a Miracle?

When God is taking us from one season to the next, it can be difficult to perceive that transformation. It isn’t easy to change, and when we journey with God, it’s more difficult to determine where God is leading us.

To navigate these waters takes a spirit of discernment and a level of faith in God’s will that we can only develop over time.

If you look around and all you see is desert, God says that He will make rivers there, and these rivers will replenish us as God leads us to our spiritual breakthrough. Don’t ponder on when the miracle will happen, but remind yourself to hold onto the faith, that Jesus has taken charge of our situation.

With everything you do, let the love of Christ and His peace in your life be the living miracle of God’s grace.

Signed,
